The last time it is told is by Cardan to the troll in the finale of this book. It’s first told by a troll, on different occasions that they met and changed each time to tell Cardan some sort of lesson or piece of wisdom. There’s a story within this story that I loved getting to read. And they weren’t even the whole thing, just little snippets that added to the story of this novella. Thankfully this book on had a few scenes from the series that were from Cardan’s point of view. Because, to me, if you’re just writing the story again but from a different characters perspective then you probably should have just included their point of view in the original story rather than just rewriting the story again. Basically rehashing the story just through a different character. I feared that there would be too many scenes from the original trilogy that would be from Cardan’s point of view. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I picked up this book and started reading but it still blew all my expectations away.
